How do you spend the 365?

It has been said and I know it is true…”time is like money if you don’t decide how you will spend it someone will decide it for you.” So having that thought I am working on how I am going to spend this next year. So let me start with the big things first and work my way down from there.

1. This year I am going to spend it under God’s authority. God is right. God is holy. God knows all. God is in charge, of me and my life. This life isn’t mine it is His. All that I own, all that I have, all that I know, all that I don’t know is all HIS. My desire is to spend 2009 completely submitted to Him. My goal, focus, and purpose is COMPLETE OBEDIENCE. That is where it begins and where it ends.
My Life Passage for 2009 is:
My Life Challenge is:

Philippians 2:3-10 NASU

3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

I will challenge myself in the area of selfishness. I will submit in humility to those around me especially God.

4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

I will put the needs of others before my own. I am going to give more away, keep less. I am going to concern myself with the plight of humanity in this lost world.

5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

I will not grab onto titles (even if they are justified) or positions and use them as a crutch to hold up my pride.

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

I will be willing to risk all that I have to take hold of that which is at the heart of God.

8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

I will make God’s kingdom my life and look at trials, troubles, and suffering as part of the life that is here. I will understand that my obedience is essential to my maturity in Jesus.

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

I will make Jesus the subject of my life in every area. I will concern myself with surrender more than anything else. I will consider His glory more than any other. This is where it starts.
